CommunityWorx Faces Foreclosure: How You Can Help Preserve a Local Lifeline

CommunityWorx, a 72-year-old nonprofit in Chapel Hill-Carrboro, is facing foreclosure. Known for supporting under-resourced youth, families, and local organizations, it urgently needs financial help from the community to continue its mission. The organization, which rebranded in 2019, hosts nine nonprofits offering crucial services. The pandemic severely impacted CommunityWorx, leading to significant revenue losses. The community can help by donating, raising awareness, and offering additional support. The potential loss of CommunityWorx would have far-reaching consequences, emphasizing the need for immediate action.

How to Help

To prevent this crisis, CommunityWorx needs immediate financial support from the community. Here’s how you can help:

  1. Donate: Financial contributions are crucial. Every donation, regardless of size, can make a difference. Donations can be made at www.communityworxnc.org.

  2. Raise Awareness: Spreading the word about the urgent need can help garner broader support. Sharing this message through social media, emails, and word of mouth can significantly impact fundraising efforts.

  3. Offer Support: For those looking to offer additional support or get more information, contact Barbara Jessie-Black, President & CEO, at [email protected].
