Where to Find the Best Easter Brunch in Chapel Hill & Beyond

If you’ve lived in the Triangle for more than five minutes, you know holiday brunch isn't just a meal—it’s a competitive sport. We’re officially four days out from Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, so if you haven’t locked in a plan yet, here’s your friendly neighborhood cheat sheet.

Whether you want a polished buffet, a family-style spread, or something more low-key, these are some of the best Easter brunch options around Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Pittsboro, Hillsborough, and Durham.

The Best Brunches in Chapel Hill

If you want the quintessential "Chapel Hill" Easter experience, you usually head toward the center of town. These spots are legendary for a reason, but that also means their reservation books fill up faster than a basketball stadium during an ACC final.

Crossroads at the Carolina Inn
211 Pittsboro St, Chapel Hill, NC
This is the big one. If you want the full-blown, elegant buffet with the carving stations and more dessert options than you can count, this is your spot. For 2026, they are running their brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It’s $59.95 for adults, $55.95 for seniors, and $25.95 for the kiddos (ages 6-12). If you have tiny ones under 5, they eat free! (Which is great, because they’ll probably just eat one roll and a strawberry anyway).

Kipos Greek Taverna
1800 E Franklin St, Chapel Hill, NC
For those who want to skip the traditional ham and go for something with a bit more Mediterranean soul, Kipos is the answer. The restaurant has recently reopened, which honestly feels like very good news for Chapel Hill brunch people. They’re especially famous for their spit-roasted lamb, so if Easter brunch without lamb feels a little suspicious to you, this is your move.

Pro Tip: If you can’t get a table at Kipos, check out Root Cellar (750 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd). It’s a bit more casual but their scratch-made biscuits are the stuff of legends.

The Best Brunches in Durham

Just a short drive down 15-501, Durham is bringing some serious culinary heat this Easter. If you’re looking to impress the in-laws or just want a "treat yourself" kind of Sunday, look here.

Glasshouse Kitchen
5107 Washington Ter, Durham, NC
This is one of the prettiest spaces in the Triangle—full stop. For April 5, they’re hosting a flat-rate $55 buffet from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. If you like your holiday brunch with plenty of choice and good lighting, this one checks both boxes nicely.

The Durham Hotel
315 E Chapel Hill St, Durham, NC
If you prefer passing plates over making repeat buffet laps, The Durham is doing a family-style brunch from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pricing is $60 for adults and $30 for kids. Stylish, central, and a solid pick if you want Easter to feel a little polished without getting stuffy.

Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club
3001 Cameron Blvd, Durham, NC
For the ultimate luxury experience, the Washington Duke Inn is the gold standard. Specifically, keep an eye on the Fairview Dining Room, which is known for a sophisticated Southern spread that feels tailor-made for a dressier Easter outing. It’s high-end, high-service, and the perfect excuse to wear your absolute best Easter bonnet.

The Best Brunches in Carrboro & Pittsboro

If the thought of a "carving station" makes you feel like you need to put on a tie you don't want to wear, Carrboro and Pittsboro offer a slightly more relaxed, but equally delicious, vibe.

Acme Food & Beverage Co.
110 E Main St, Carrboro, NC
Chef Kevin Callaghan always knows how to throw a party. For Easter Sunday, Acme is open 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and they’re also offering a $75 Easter Feast To-Go for two—which is a pretty great backup plan if your ideal brunch involves elastic waistbands and your own dining table. Expect Southern staples with a high-end twist. (And yes, you should definitely order the cocktails if you’re dining in).

Carolina Brewery
120 Lowes Dr, Pittsboro, NC
In Pittsboro, Carolina Brewery is keeping it fun and family-friendly. They’re leaning into the comfort food this year with Chicken & Waffles and Brunch Tacos. It’s the perfect spot if you have a larger group or just want a high-quality meal without the three-course formality.

The Root Cellar (Pittsboro Location)
35 Suttles Rd, Pittsboro, NC
The Pittsboro location is serving brunch from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Easter Sunday, which makes it a very handy option for early birds, families, and anyone who wants to eat before the egg hunt energy fully takes over. If the weather holds up, their outdoor seating is a great place to let the kids wiggle around while you enjoy a real cup of coffee (or a mimosa, we don't judge).

The Best Brunches in Hillsborough & Beyond

For our friends in Hillsborough, you’ve got some great local gems like Hillsborough BBQ Company (119 S Nash St), which is perfect if you want to skip the "brunch" and go straight for the brisket.

However, since many Hillsborough spots keep it low-key on Easter Sunday, many locals find themselves taking the 15-minute hop over to Durham. If you haven't explored the food scene near Ninth Street lately, Easter is a great excuse to see how much has changed!

Local Easter Events

If you’re planning the whole weekend—not just the meal—here are a couple of local Easter events worth knowing about.

Hope Valley Farms YMCA Egg Hunt
4818 S Roxboro St, Durham, NC
Saturday, April 4, 2026 | 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This Durham event is free and includes egg hunts, crafts, and a selfie station. Easy, festive, and very family-friendly.

Chapel Hill Parks & Recreation Egg Hunts
Chapel Hill, NC
Chapel Hill Parks & Rec is also hosting a Flashlight Egg Hunt for teens and the Egg-ceptional Egg Hunt for kids with disabilities this weekend. For the most accurate 2026 times, check the Chapel Hill Parks & Recreation event calendar before you head out.

Reservations & Tips

Listen, I’m a Realtor, I spend my life looking at schedules and logistics. Take it from me: Reservations are a must.

Most of these places use OpenTable or Resy, but for the classics like The Carolina Inn or Il Palio, a good old-fashioned phone call is sometimes your best bet to see if they’ve had any last-minute cancellations.

Quick Checklist for Sunday:

  • Confirm the count: Don't forget to count the high chairs!

  • Check the dress code: Most places are "Sunday Best," but Acme and Carolina Brewery are totally fine with "Carrboro Casual."

  • Parking: If you’re heading to Franklin Street or Downtown Durham, give yourself an extra 15 minutes. Easter Sunday brings out everyone, and parking can be a bit of a hunt (pun intended).
